By the end of this module you can…

• Greet every patient with respectful Mandarin, and call them from the waiting room.
• Introduce yourself as the optometrist, and say what happens today.
• Confirm the patient’s name and date of birth, and why they came.
• Ask about glasses and contact lenses, and about driving if their eyes may be dilated.
• Guide them into the exam chair, book the next visit and close warmly.

3. 请说一下您的出生日期。Qǐng shuō yí xià nín de chū shēng rì qī.Please tell me your date of birth.
4. 您今天来，是常规检查，还是眼睛哪里不舒服？Nín jīn tiān lái, shì cháng guī jiǎn chá, hái shi yǎn jing nǎ lǐ bù shū fu?A routine check, or is something bothering your eyes?
5. 您戴眼镜吗？今天带来了吗？Nín dài yǎn jìng ma? Jīn tiān dài lái le ma?Do you wear glasses? Did you bring them today?
6. 今天先查视力，再量眼压。Jīn tiān xiān chá shì lì, zài liáng yǎn yā.Today: your vision first, then your eye pressure.
7. 散瞳以后，我们建议您不要自己开车。Sàn tóng yǐ hòu, wǒ men jiàn yì nín bú yào zì jǐ kāi chē.After dilation, we advise you not to drive yourself.
8. 下巴放在这里，额头贴紧前面。Xià ba fàng zài zhè lǐ, é tóu tiē jǐn qián miàn.Chin here, forehead against the front.
9. 有什么不舒服，随时告诉我。Yǒu shén me bù shū fu, suí shí gào su wǒ.If anything is uncomfortable, tell me any time.
10. 慢走，下次见！Màn zǒu, xià cì jiàn!Take care, see you next time!
