Module 12 of 12 · 肿瘤科中文 Cancer Care
安宁疗护与随访 Hospice, Survivorship and Goodbyes
The last stretch in Mandarin: hospice explained honestly, the end of life, condolences, and life after cancer treatment.
By the end of this module you can…
- Explain hospice as comfort care at home, not giving up, and introduce the hospice team and the 24-hour line.
- Gently explain the changes at the end of life to a family, without promising timing, and ask about their wishes and customs.
- Offer condolences in respectful Mandarin, using 去世 and the family’s own words instead of a blunt 死.
- Mark the end of treatment, set out the follow-up plan, and respond honestly to the fear of recurrence.
- Talk about long-term effects, work and healthy living, decline a gift warmly and say goodbye.
